Welcome to Anthony Medico Music! Please have a look around the site to learn more about the piano lessons I offer to students of all ages and skill levels. ROYAL CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC (RCM):
As a proud graduate and Certified Teacher of the Royal Conservatory of Music, lessons will mainly follow the RCM curriculum, giving students the opportunity to progress through the levels earning certificates for their accomplishments.
This curriculum provides a well-rounded and solid foundation providing students with all the tools they need to develop their craft and take their lifelong musical journey in any direction they wish.
Students progressing through the levels will have the opportunity to prepare for and participate in practical examinations which include a wide range of repertoire, technical exercises, ear training, and sight reading. The study of music theory alongside practical study will ensure a deeper understanding of the musical language.
ONTARIO REGISTERED MUSIC TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION (ORMTA):
As a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association, many additional opportunities are available to Anthony Medico Music students including additional recitals throughout the year, workshops and other events that students can attend. ORMTA has a membership of more than 1300 Registered Music Teachers that aim to provide the highest calibre of music education to each community they serve.
TEACHING APPROACH:
While a lot of time and hard work is required to learn an instrument, the journey should be fun and enjoyable. The main goal is to make music and enjoy doing it. Lessons will be taught in a way that encourages exploring and discovery. This will help keep the student engaged at all times. Students will earn in an encouraging, patient and calm environment. Lessons are tailored to each individual student’s ability and pace. Personalized lessons allow for celebrating each individual student’s strengths and giving extra attention to improve on their weaknesses.
